Practical Face Reconstruction via Differentiable Ray Tracing

چکیده
We present a differentiable ray-tracing based novel face reconstruction approach where scene attributes – 3D geometry, reflectance (diffuse, specular and roughness), pose, camera parameters, illumination are estimated from unconstrained monocular images. The proposed method models via novel, parameterized virtual light stage, which in-conjunction with ray-tracing, introduces coarse-to-fine optimization formulation for reconstruction. Our can not only handle self-shadows conditions, but also estimates diffuse albedos. To estimate the consistently practical semantics, two-stage strategy systematically uses subset of parametric attributes, subsequent attribute estimations factor those previously estimated. For example, during first later prevent its baking into personalized albedos in second stage. show efficacy our several real-world scenarios, be even under extreme conditions. Ablation studies, analyses comparisons against recent state-of-the-art methods improved accuracy versatility approach. With consistent reconstruction, leads to style illumination, albedo, self-shadow edit transfer applications, as discussed paper.

Practical Ray Tracing of Trimmed NURBS Surfaces
A system is presented for ray tracing trimmed NURBS surfaces. While approaches to components are drawn largely from existing literature, their combination within a single framework is novel. This paper also differs from prior work in that the details of an efficient implementation are fleshed out. Throughout, emphasis is placed on practical methods suitable to implementation in general ray trac...
متن کاملSubpixel Reconstruction Antialiasing for Ray Tracing
We introduce a practical antialiasing approach for interactive ray tracing and path tracing. Our method is inspired by the Subpixel Reconstruction Antialiasing (SRAA) method which separates the shading from visibility and geometry sampling to produce antialiased images at reduced cost. While SRAA is designed for GPU-based deferred shading renderer, we extend the concept to ray-tracing based app...
متن کاملTeaching Introductory Computer Graphics Via Ray Tracing
Ray tracing is a computer graphics technique capable of creating visual effects such as realistic soft shadows, reflections, refractions, motion blur, and depth of field. Historically considered computationally expensive, ray tracing is gaining in popularity as computing power (primarily the recent increase in the number of processor cores) continues to increase. This paper details an introduct...
متن کاملRay-tracing and Interferometry in Schwarzschild Geometry
Here, we investigate the possible optical anisotropy of vacuum due to gravitational field. In doing this, we provide sufficient evidence from direct coordinate integration of the null-geodesic equations obtained from the Lagrangian method, as well as ray-tracing equations obtained from the Plebanski’s equivalent medium theory. All calculations are done for the Schwarzschild geometry, which resu...

As a breast-imaging technique, digital breast tomosynthesis has great potential to improve the diagnosis of early breast cancer over mammography. Ray-tracing-based reconstruction algorithms, such as ray-tracing back projection, maximum-likelihood expectation maximization (MLEM), ordered-subset MLEM (OS-MLEM), and simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique (SART), have been developed as rec...
